Impact of Food on Energy Body & Why Attachment

21-Aug-2008 - Impact of Food on Energy Body & Why Attachment

We were talking about eating food at other's place and the effect it has on us. We were thinking how we get drained out when we eat at other's place. Ladies generally cook with lot of interest and so when they are cooking in time of their depression and confusion they transfer all the negative energy onto the food. Whereas when both of us cook it's quite effortless and so our thoughts might go relatively lesser into it. In addition we also felt that we deliberately think positive during that time so the food does not get tainted. In addition we also feel that we bless the food and even bless people who come to eat and so others feel energetic when they eat food. This is not to boast of our good thought but just to remind ourselves that we need to careful when dealing with world. Especially the kind of people we meet and kind of food we eat outside at other's house.

Another strain of thought was also about attachment that humans have. Sometimes it feels that attachment to material things and other humans around is a method, that He has created, for letting this creation carry on and evolve. If there was no attachment everyone would have been sitting and meditating in their own places and so we would not have such great extent of material progress that we have seen. Attachment is part of this creation to let this creation proceed in the cycle of evolution.

SELF LOVE

SELF LOVE - Musings on 20 August 2008

He is of the view feels that creating a reverse channel of energy by exchange of money creates a possibility of negative energy coming onto healer. If one observes that Bhagwan does not charge money and is not pretentious in what healing HE does. HE says that “want something to be done pray to me”. In HIS system, for example vibronics the individual's soul can freely decide whether to get healed or not. On the other side if a healer charges money then there is expectation getting created in the subject. Sometimes that translated to non-optimal healing and existence of money link exacerbates the problem at hand as there is higher chance of negative energy jumping on to a healer in such a situation. Bhagwan's system of free is good. But this also depends on belief about abundance. Also, each person is given different role to play. Possibly such healers have been given the role to healing by taking money.

We were also talking about what we should consciously do in life and we felt that there is nothing more to do. What we were saying is that when we expect something out of Him after we closer to Him or even other wise; we go into a vortex of self pity, depression, tiredness, angry and the cycle gets bigger and better over a period. When one looks back one would notice that there were enough warning signals before the cycle became so intertwined and strong. It all starts in smaller manner. Every time He gives enough hint that the path is not leading to something good. If one stops for a moment one would realise that “I was put on this earth because he wanted me to realise”.

We need to believe that He knows what's optimum and exactly what we need nothing more nothing less. She feels that He gives more. I am saying to her that in Pranic Healing more is Congestion and Less is depletion and that makes me conclude that he will neither do more nor less. Exactly the optimum. Its just that we need to be sensitive to the process that we are undergoing. I always felt good that she has gone to Parthi. She has such good level of confidence.

Now we know that Healing is just about allowing things to happen. Just to allow means that we trust him. He is always there. Its is really about loving oneself. Omni also speaks the same thing. Everything starts with Love or Lack of it. When we love ourselves the money will come on its own. We are going back to same understanding. It all about loving oneself. Lack of Self Love translates to Lack of money in Physical World. Also, its important that we should not run the tape of criticizing ourselves. Yesterday when she went by Swami's Mandir, He gave insight that He loves him. He instructed her to remind him that he is blessed and taken care of all the time.

A Letter from HIM to HIS Students

My Dear Children,

There is no longer time for slumber. You have been asleep and dreaming for thousands of lifetimes. If you do not awaken now, this chance may not come again for thousands more.

Come with Me. Separation is no longer the order of the day. I separated Myself from Myself, so that I could love Myself more. The experience is finished. I want all myselves to return and merge into Me, the one self.

I gave many of you the advantage of an unhappy childhood, including conflict or separation from your mother or father . In doing this I removed from you the temptation to become attached to human parents or a specific family situation. That left you with only one option - that is to attach yourself to Me.

Why do you not avail yourself of this opportunity instead of continually seeking those relationships which can never satisfy you. Even if your childhood had been idyllic as you would have liked, it is not even the love of this form that you long for. Your deepest innermost urge is to return to yourself - to love yourself - to become the Being, Awareness, Bliss which is all you will ever be.

Let go of the past. Stop trying to get from each other what you still think you missed in childhood or marriage. You will never find anyone who is enough. Not even Me. Love yourself, know yourself, be yourself. Only you will be enough. Can you not love yourself because I love over and over again? Did I not virtually move heaven and earth to bring you to Me?

I have asked all My devotees to repeat the mantra,

" I AM GOD, I AM NOT DIFFERENT FROM GOD"

Now I ask you to specifically follow that instruction. It will be more helpful than anything you can do. Now remember that I love you, and as I do, Love yourself.

With Love and Blessings Baba.

Happy People

There are many ways for people to be unhappy, but happy people have common characteristics. That's why a good way to be happy is to learn the common characteristics of happy people and apply them. Here are 17 timeless secrets of happy people:

1. Forget the past - One of the keys to happiness is a bad memory - Rita Mae Brown

You won't be happy if you carry the burden of the past. Did you make mistakes? Did you have terrible experiences? Whatever they are, you should let them go. There's nothing you can do about the past, so you'd better let them go and focus your energy on the present.

2. Take responsibility for your life -The secret of Happiness is Freedom, and the secret of Freedom, Courage - Thucydides

To be happy you should have freedom and the most essential freedom is the freedom to choose. No matter how bad a situation is, you can always choose how you respond to it. People can annoy you, but it's up to you whether or not you will resent. But, as the quote above says, freedom takes courage. Freedom to choose requires the courage to take responsibility for your life. You shouldn't blame someone else when something goes wrong. Take the responsibility and you have the power to choose.

3. Build relationships - Life's truest happiness is found in friendships we make along the way

Relationships is where we can get true happiness in life. The reason is simple: only through relationships can we love and be loved. Make relationships your top priority and you are on your way to true happiness.

4. Develop multiple passions - The more passions and desires one has, the more ways one has of being happy - Charlotte-Catherine

Passions lead you to happiness. So not only should you discover your multiple passions, you should also expand yourself to new passions. This way you will create new ways to happiness. The key to expanding to new passions is curiosity. If you are curious, you will have an endless stream of exciting things waiting for you.

5. Build your character -Character is the basis of happiness and happiness the sanction of character - George Santayana

Building your character is essential for happiness. When you are true to yourself and others, you will be in peace. The way to start building character is by making promises and keeping them. For example, you make promise to yourself that you won't smoke. When you keep it, you are building your character. Or you make promise to others to be punctual. When you keep it, you build your character.

6. Be who you are - The summit of happiness is reached when a person is ready to be what he is -
Desiderius Erasmus

You can only be happy if you become who you are. Don't live other people's life by trying to meet their expectations. People may expect you to have certain job or certain way of living but don't be intimidated by them. Find who you are and be yourself.

7. Live your life purpose - The only true happiness comes from squandering ourselves for a purpose - William Cowper

To have a fulfilling life, you should find your life purpose and follow it faithfully. Find what matters to you and build the courage to follow it. Having a one-liner will help you internalize and communicate your mission.

8. Count your blessings - Happiness will never come to those who fail to appreciate what they already have

Being happy is easy if we are grateful. Unfortunately, seeing what we don't have is often easier than seeing what we have. Sometimes we need to experience loss before appreciating what we have. So don't take things for granted. Look at what you have and soon you will have plenty of reasons to be happy. You may start with these simple things.

9. Have positive mind -It is not the place, nor the condition, but the mind alone that can make anyone happy or miserable - Roger L'Estrange

Happy people know how to control their mind. They don't let negative thoughts come in. While a situation may seem bad to others, happy people look at them in a positive way. They always believe that no matter how bad a situation seems, there is always something positive to take from it. Your mind can make or break you, so guard it well.

10. Work creatively - Happiness lies in the joy of achievement and the thrill of creative effort - Franklin D. Roosevelt

When you work creatively on something you will find happiness. There is a well-known phenomenon regarding this called flow. When you are in the state of flow, you are fully focused on the task at hand that you no longer realize the passage of time. This state of flow allows you to achieve high productivity and being happy at the same time. Here are some tips to achieve it

http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2007/01/7-rules-for-maximizing-your-creative-output/

11. Start with what you have -The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance, the wise grows it under his feet - James Oppenheim

Happy people don't need something they don't have to be happy. They don't need certain job or certain level of income. Instead, they learn to be happy with what they already have. They have learned the art of contentment. Be content with what you have and you will be happy.

12. Change -They must often change who would be constant in happiness or wisdom - Confucius

Being happy requires you to constantly grow. In fact, the process of learning itself is essential for happiness. Have you ever felt the excitement of being enlightened about something? Have you ever felt the excitement of achieving a new level in life? Top 10 Things You Should Change in Your Life gives you some practical tips on changing your life.

http://www.lifeoptimizer.org/2008/06/25/change-in-your-life-get-what-you-want/

13. Use your talents -True happiness involves the full use of one's power and talents - Douglas Pagels

There are two lessons to take from this quote. First, you should find your talents and second, you should use them to the fullest. Working in your talents is a sure way to enjoy your work because it's something you are "hardwired" to do. Using your talents fully will make you even happier because of the satisfaction of doing your best.

http://www.lifeoptimizer.org/2007/09/13/12-essential-lessons-to-maximize-your-personal-strengths/

14. Beware of small things -The happiness of most people we know is not ruined by great catastrophes or fatal errors, but by the repetition of slowly destructive little things - Ernest Dimnet

This is very true. Often it's not big things that ruin your happiness. It's the small things that do. Perhaps you don't like someone or break some "small" promises. But even small leaks can sink your ship of happiness, so beware of them.

15. Distill your ambitions - Where ambition ends happiness begins

While wanting to achieve more in your life is good, being obsessed by it is not. Do your best to improve yourself but don't be obsessed by it.

16. Make others happy -Happiness is a perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops on yourself - Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is my favorite secret of happiness. The way to being happy is to make others happy first. The more you help other people and make them happy, the more you will be happy. Happiness doesn't come through selfishness but through selflessness. You reap what you sow.

17. Practice compassion -If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion - The Dalai Lama

Compassion is perhaps the highest level of selflessness we could have. As this quote aptly says, practicing compassion can make both others and you happy.

But of course, it requires practice. Start with thinking about the people around you. Look at their needs and find ways to meet them. Even if you don't do it out of compassion in the beginning, your compassion will grow over time.

All in all, this quote by Aristotle can summarize the lessons above:

Happiness depends upon ourselves

Indian Market - US Impact - Oil Price - The conspiracy

I think this year will be very bad for Indian Wealth Management Business as Indian Markets are so volataile. One way i feel happy that i got out of Indian Market at right time. Looks like the Indian Wealth Management business is now hitting a phase where there will be pared and even Nil bonuses forget the big salary increases. I just hope to get back to India at right time.

In terms of Indian Market as such tts been going up in recent past in volatile markets just to fool people. In my opinion its going to hold on to these level and inch higher for some time so that more people can be attracted for butchering. After that there might be a butchering which no one would have ever expected in their life. Its like a scenario where someone had written that every cycle of bear market makes people learn and so the next cycle is even worse.

I was also thinking something like this, US along with its allies killed Russia last time through Oil prices during Cold war and Russia was successfully decimated. This time they are threatened from China and India, and so they are doing all they can to kill these two emerging economies (too much of threat with Chinese and Indians gathering self confidence). The only tool they have to kill these two economies is oil price. And they are doing this to the fullest possible extent. India is going backrupt because of Oil subsidies and what WTO could not do for subsidies, the Oil price has done. On the other hand China instead of reaping benefits of Olympics is having to weather domestic problem and economic slowdown due to the same high oil prices.

The only twist here is that due to credit crisis in US the situation has got more complicated. I feel the overconfidence of US will be its undoing but it will be really tought for India and China to get over this phase of economic turmoil.

World Friendship Day

Some friendship quotes:
  • Friendship is the hardest thing in the world to explain. It's not something you learn in school. But if you haven't learned the meaning of friendship, you really haven't learned anything.
  • Truly great friends are hard to find, difficult to leave, and impossible to forget.
  • A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself
  • Your friend is the one who knows all about you, and still likes you
World Friendship Day, which is what, got me brooding.

Role of Geography: Friendships in today’s global world are complicated very unlike childhood and college friends. I used to earlier think that friendships are lifelong. I have acquired a slightly different view now. With so many of us moving towns and traveling often, I have observed that friendships may last a lifetime, but are strengthened based on geographical distance. Sometime back two of my friends move to Singapore, and I observed that the affection continues, but I also have seen that we have eventually dropped out of touch. Initially I used to feel that such occurrences were tragedy. But now this has become business as usual. Although many of us maintain long-distance friendships, it is not the same thing as having friends within the same city.

Role of Professional and Financial Status: I really feel bad writing this, but after much thought, I have come to reconcile with the sorry truth about friendships. That is, once we are out of college, most of our friendships are status and hierarchy based. We make friends in so many ways, at work, near home, other friends introduce us to interesting people and one makes more friends. If one observes closely most of people will be in same economic bracket. The rich hang around other rich people (or their chamchas, the sycophants); the middle class engages in socialization with others like them. If you think a little, the reason that most of the people are in same economic stature is because in order to do things together with friends, whether it is eating out, partying, vacation, one has to be on the same page with respect to many things, but most importantly the budget.

Networking vs friendship: There is the whole business of “networking”. We are told by our elders and also colleagues to network and develop a circle of friends who can then be tapped for information and advice when needed. My view here professional networks aren’t friendships. Someone rightly said” You can network with people you don’t like; but you can’t stay friends with people you dislike.”

The Exceptions: There are few exceptional individuals who will cut across class and professional lines and socialize with other profession, not so well paying.

Whom to call friend: First and foremost one should feel joyous, ecstatic and blissful during the connecting moments. I have always believed in “pure” friends; that is you have have fun together and get along with each other’s idiosyncrasies. No strings attached. Anything favour that one wants, one can just call and ask. Thats what friendship should be about.

Frequency of contact: At least once a month personal communication and continual mental recall. Just forwards won’t do. It like you don’t remember a person for 4 weeks you are out of their mind.

Give the above I am forced to conclude that my relationship with SAI fits the bill for a True Friendship. And so I need to maintain contact with HIM as frequently as possible to keep this friendship going. Thats why i started going to Puttaparthy everymonth in the year 2006. However, now i have moved to Dubai and so its getitng incrementally difficult to go and see HIM Physically. And so when i am in a gathering of human beings, I attempt to see HIM in people around. When I am alone put on Bhajan Stream of Radio Sai or otherwise Rudram Chanting on my mobile. That makes me feel very good. These moments of connect are really Blissful, Ecstasy and Joy.
